Billington Bears was founded by Clare Granger and her mother Barbara in 2000 when they set up shop at Leicester Market in a small unit where they would design and make each Billington Bear.
After a few years the decision was made to leave the market and concentrate on Billington Bears online presence which grew steadily over the next few years, trading through online craft sites as well as supplying various stores throughout the world.
Although in the beginning Billington Bears was synonymous with the traditional style of bears, over time Clare wanted to try something new. Something different. Something unique. And what she came up with was certainly original. Settling on two distinct styles Clare is now known for the unusual character styles affectionately known as the 'Crumble' and the 'Fudge'. Both named after the first characters brought to life from these distinct patterns
